The herbal base behind our Cortisol Cocktail — tulsi, lemon balm and hibiscus blended in the same proportions used in the original recipe. Drink it hot as a simple herbal tea, or brew it stronger, chill it and make the full Cortisol Cocktail.
Ingredients
Tulsi, Lemon Balm, Hibiscus
How to Make the Cortisol Cocktail
You'll need:
- 1¼ tbsp Cortisol Cocktail Tea
- ¾ cup coconut water
- ¼ cup ruby grapefruit juice
- Small pinch of sea salt
- ½ scoop unflavoured magnesium bisglycinate powder
- Ice
Steep 1¼ tbsp of the tea blend in ½ cup hot water, covered, for 15 minutes. Strain and chill. Add the coconut water, ruby grapefruit juice, magnesium bisglycinate and sea salt. Stir well and pour over ice.
Important: If you take medication that interacts with grapefruit, replace the grapefruit juice with orange juice.
For the magnesium, choose a plain, unflavoured magnesium bisglycinate powder with as few added ingredients as possible.
As a Regular Tea
Steep 1 tbsp per cup of hot water, covered, for 15 minutes. Strain and enjoy hot or chilled.
Why These Herbs?
Tulsi — Traditionally used as an adaptogenic herb to support the body's response to stress.
Lemon Balm — Traditionally used to support a calm nervous system, with a soft lemony flavour.
Hibiscus — Rich in antioxidant polyphenols; gives the blend its naturally tart, ruby-red finish.
